Bouldin Project in Austin Texas

The Bouldin project in Austin, TX has now moved on to the foundation stage. This small residence will be nestled in the trees up on a hillside in the back half of the lot. We will post pictures as soon as the site calms down after the concrete pour.

Greenliving Roundup in Fredericksburg, Texas was a little rainy the first day, but Z Works Design Build booth was busy throughout the day. Second day is promising to be sunny!

Twin Oaks Residence now finished!

Time passed quickly and the Twin Oaks Residence is now finished.

The building has an envelope made with the combination of Structural Insulated Panels, SIPs, and Insulated Concrete Forms, ICF. These two materials make the building envelope very energy efficient. The exterior walls were stuccoed over and the inside of the walls was plastered.

The floors are stained concrete throughout the house. Concrete floors are easy to maintain and offer a healthy anti-allergy surfaces.

The entire house is supplied with a rainwater harvesting system. The water is collected into a 30,000 gallon storage tank. The tank is partially underground which keeps the water cooler during the hot Central Texas summer months.
